The Bach Cello Suites have been a part of my life as long as I’ve been playing cello. In spite of my stylistic restlessness and years of artistic exploration outside of the Western Classical tradition, this is probably the repertoire I’ve played and thought about the most during my life, so I’m excited to share it with you all!
You may ask yourself, “did he record this in a bathroom?!”

New video of an original tune of mine recorded with some wonderful traditional Chinese musicians! The title is inspired by an experience at my hotel in Guangzhou, but the music is inspired by formative experiences working with Silkroad friends Wu Man, Wu Tong (heard singing an overdub towards end), and Hu Jianbing, who plays in this recording!
